Telegram Group Federation: Ban Users Across All Groups with /fban
June 2026 · Telemod Team
Managing several Telegram groups and banning the same spammer manually in each one is exhausting. Group federation in Telemod solves this: link your communities and ban a user across all of them with a single /fban command.
Federation support by bot
| Bot | Federation | /fban | Web panel | Plans |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Telemod | Free / $3 / $7 | |||
| Rose | Free | |||
| ChatKeeper | $5+/mo | |||
| OmniGest | Free |
Telemod
The only bot that combines federation, a full web dashboard and AI moderation. Telemod Gold ($7/mo) lets you create federations with /newfed, link groups with /joinfed and ban users network-wide with /fban. The web dashboard shows the full federation ban log.
Rose
Rose supports basic federation and /fban, making it the only free alternative with this feature. However, it has no web panel — all management is done through chat commands, which is harder to audit at scale.
ChatKeeper
ChatKeeper has a solid web dashboard and anti-spam features but does not support federation or /fban. If you need network-wide bans across multiple groups, ChatKeeper cannot help.
OmniGest
A free lightweight bot with no federation support. Fine for single-group setups but not suitable for community networks.
How to set up federation in Telemod
Create a federation with /newfed
In any group where @telemodxyzbot is admin, send /newfed <name>. The bot will create a new federation and make you its owner. You will receive a unique federation ID.
Join groups to the federation with /joinfed
In each group you want to add, send /joinfed <federation-id>. Only group admins who are also federation owners or sub-admins can do this. All linked groups now share one ban list.
Use /fban to ban across the network
Reply to a message from the user you want to ban and send /fban [reason]. The user is immediately banned from every group in the federation. Use /unfban to reverse the ban.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Telegram group federation?
- Federation is a feature that links multiple Telegram groups under one shared ban list. An admin can ban a user from all groups at once using the /fban command, instead of banning them individually in each group.
- Which Telegram bots support /fban?
- Telemod (Gold plan, $7/mo) and Rose both support federation and /fban. ChatKeeper, OmniGest and most other bots do not have this feature.
- Does Telemod federation work across groups I do not own?
- Yes. Any Telegram group admin can join an existing federation using /joinfed if the federation owner grants permission. The federation owner controls who can join and use /fban.
Federation with /fban is the most efficient way to protect a network of Telegram communities. Telemod is the only bot that combines this feature with a web dashboard, making it easy to audit and manage bans at scale.
